The Lazy Lobster. Bar Harbor Maine Outstanding, had the grilled chicken pesto sandwich. The chicken was moist and flavorful and just the right amount of pesto and spices. Clam chowder was the best I have had in Maine, rich, creamy , lots of clams. Wife had the half lobster salad. Fresh and tasty with mixed lettuce ,tomatoes ,mushrooms, onions and green peppers. All around fair prices, fresh food and casual atmosphere

The cute restaurant has a more reasonably priced lobster roll in Bar Harbor, and it was delicious. The cole slaw was pretty good, though I prefer the cabbage shredded more finely or minced. The Lilly Melt was a good turkey sandwich. Service was nice.

WE drove past this place most of our vacation because it's right on the main drag. Today, though, we hit a 60 degree rainy day and came in for some hot chowder. I ordered the lobster bisque and my husband ordered the clam chowder. Coming from Connecticut, I'm generally skeptical of clam chowder (I get good chowder at home)....but this was delicious. I quickly had hubby hand over the chowder to me. I gave him the bisque (also good...but the chowder is tops) and had him order another chowder for himself. I recommend.

I love this place. It was our Cheers while we were in Bar Harbor because we went there so much during our week long stay that they knew all of our names. What an awesome staff and a great concept, nothing fancy but they produce some amazing food. A dear friend that traveled with us didn't enjoy seafood and loved their pesto chicken panini so much that she ate it nearly everyday during our stay here (she even smuggled it into Reel Pizza to enjoy during the movie we saw, no joke). She's still talking about it while we're back in Florida, it was just that good! Their lobster roll is the best we had while on MDI, so definitely give that a go. They have a sweet little deal were you get a lobster roll, a cup of clam chowder or lobster bisque and a piece of pie for $25 bucks which is a great value. We are still craving them! The buttered bread and the perfect ratio of lobster was perfection. I cannot stress how awesome this lil gem was, but I know as soon as we go back to Maine it'll be our first stop. It was also one of the few restaurants that was open all day which made it even more convenient!

While visiting Acadia we made it a point to eat as many lobster rolls as both physically and financially possible. Lazy Lobster was one of the stops as we planned our lobster overdose. We stopped in at this restaurant after a long morning of hiking on the Carriage Roads. We loved the cool ambiance of the restaurant and the staff here was great. My wife and I both bought the clam chowder and lobster roll combos and have to say that both items were incredible. The cost was typical for the area and I will say that the chowder was the best we had in the area. The lobster roll sadly wasn't our favorite, but it was a fairly close second. In the end, awesome restaurant, great staff, and great food. Don't shy away from this place if you are in the area, just be prepared to fend off some entitled clientele.

First Time @ Bar Harbor, ME *** Best Clam Chowder *** We have been here a few days now, and ate a lot of food. One of the things we have done is try the clam chowder at every place we go. After many recipes, must say this place has our favorite clam chowder. People are nice, great service, and food is delicious.

One lobster roll One steamed lobster One cup of clam chowder One cup of lobster bisque One slice of blueberry pie One hour later of eating and chatting with hospitable owners? Priceless. Just kidding my whole meal was around 47 dollars. The place is more like a deli setting, humble and down to earth, what I love about Maine is that it's so casual to eat lobster. You don't need to go to some candle lit fancy table service restaurant or dress up in a suit. All you need is a bib and good claw breaking tools. The combo deals are more bang for buck. The lobster bisque was good but the clam chowder was better. The lobster roll was one of the better ones I've had in the area. The owner told me that lobsters are fattier and juicier in July so it's double the meat of what I got, the prices are the same all year long so definitely come here in July! The grand finale of blue berry pie was delish!! I'm usually not a fan of pie because I find it too sweet but wow this was amazing! It tasted like natural sweetness, no added sugar or anything. It was just sweet from the berries itself! P.S. They serve lobster in almost 101 ways! Salad, panini, pizza, you name it!

These were some of the nicest people we had help us in Maine, but we rate on food, don't we? It was ok. We thought more of it while eating, but that's why I gave myself a week to write this brief review. After time to sample fare elsewhere, the lobster here wasn't as fresh. I understand that they aren't keeping tanks in this deli, but that IS what's available in the area. My son's pizza looked so-so, though he ate the whole thing without complaint and the owner did mention that they made the sauce from scratch. I think it would have benefited from some browning of the top. We were here in the middle of June and they had just raised the prices. Perhaps a better job of re-writing the numbers would have made me not feel a bit shafted for paying $24 for a pre picked lobster. Anyway, don't take this as a discouragement not to go. On the other hand, go, but maybe look at things other than lobster here.

Awesome clam chowder and lots of lobster meals to choose from the menu. Owner was so friendly and gave us great directions to enter park

Went in for the fisherman's breakfast and lobster mac and cheese. The breakfast was a killer price. The lobster mac and cheese was nothing too special.. Staff was very friendly.

Very good Lobster Roll. We used YELP reviews to decide to come here and we're rewarded with a great treat!!!

We each got the ultimate lobster sandwich (buttered lobster on brioche with smoked gouda and bacon). Ordained by the lobster Gods, it was the best lobster dish we had all week and I'd drive the 18 hours back there for it. The staff were nice, reasonable prices and tucked away a bit so the 'cruisees' missed it but it was on the main drag for buses so make sure you hit it at the right time or I imagine it could get very crowded. No matter, there's a park across the street that would make the perfect spot for a to go picnic. YUM!

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat. 4 stars because I thought the size of the lobster roll was a tiiiiiny bit small, but tasted great along with the clam chowder and blueberry pie!! Both the best we've had so far. Customer service was really great as well! We ended up in Bar Harbor the same time as 1200 people from a cruise ship, so anything immediately downtown was completely hectic, this place is still very close to the downtown but a bit off of the beaten path which made it the perfect place.

Lunchtime stop - inevitably, lobster rolls. They were okay, but then so are most places in town. I wouldn't rate them as exceptional. I did rather like the blueberry soda though.

  • Josh M.

Surprisingly good lobster roll from this otherwise forgettable pizza/salad joint. There are many better options unless you're just swinging in to pick up a tasty lobster roll to go.

  • Barb M.

Whole family loves it! Laid back atmosphere and relaxing. Even noticed details like side salads having hand shaved fresh carrot and cucumber! The lobster bisque is wonderful - creamy and plenty of lobster shredded in there. Daughter had Caesar salad with fresh grilled chicken - she rarely eats all of a salad - but all the chicken disappeared fast. We also had the lobster salad - lots of fresh hand picked lobster! Hats off, gentlemen! Well done!

Outstanding food. Terrific service. The pie was yummy. The lobster bisque was so creamy and delicious!!!!

Solid 2/5 (purely based on the food) We are travelers from Boston. We came across this place on our trip to Acadia due to high yelp rating. The lobsters were not particularly good. They were just like the ones you can get from local supermarkets in Boston (like shaws etc.) The lobster roe is just okay because the lobster meat in the lobster roe was not that fresh.

I had a Greek Salad, it was tasty and a good size portion. It was also a good value for the meal. I plan to return for supper tonight

Great quality food for a quick bite. Not fancy at all but fabulous lobster rolls

  • Bill S.

This was a great place for lunch. Al kinds of wraps and panini. We had our six year old with us, and they even did a special order for our Mr. Picky! The sandwiches were flavorful and the prices were decent. The man taking our order ( I'm guessing the owner?) was so nice and friendly!

  • Jonathan C.

Our needs were simple: we needed to have lobster for lunch. Hey, it's Maine, am I right? The Lazy Lobster is a deli-style place with ample seating in a roomy place. We each had the hot boiled lobster with bisque and blueberry pie for $23. Lobster was hot and fresh - perfectly cooked! The kitchen staff even cuts the tail in half for easy access. Came with slaw or potato salad (eh, but whatever). All the necessary tools are provided. Bisque was filled with buttery goodness. And the pie had plump berries and a nice crust. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean. The staff was nice. You could do a lot worse.

Fantastic Lobster Rolls and Lobster Bisque. We were starving after hiking in Acadia, and the Lazy Lobster was a great way to refuel. Not cheap, but worth the money if you need a Lobster fix.

  • Ana M.

Casual place with a pretty good menu. Many lobster options. I had the lobster roll and the clam chowder. The roll was a little tough, but the chowder was great!

  • Cathy H.

Nice lunch place on the green in BarHarbor. Tasty chowder and lobster bisque. Lobster rolls had a lot of claw meat chunks, not too much mayo and were also good size. The combo of bisque or chowder, lobster roll and blueberry pie was the perfect size to refuel after a hike. Try it out!

  • Amanda N.

We ducked into the lazy lobster in a cold, rainy day looking for good soup. We were not disappointed! The lobster bisque was wonderful, very creamy and flavorful. My husband also had a lobster roll, which he really liked. I had a garden salad and was pleasantly surprised by how big it was and how many vegetables it had, especially since it wasn't very expensive. This place is a great casual stop for lunch.

The Lazy Lobster is an incredibly welcoming place- the staff is friendly and accommodating. More importantly, their lobster dishes are simple yet very delicious. They serve your typical staples: lobster rolls, wraps, lobster mac n cheese, lobster salads. However, even a simple lobster roll requires love, and the Lazy Lobster pours their love into all their dishes. Subsequently, that love lands in our bellies!

  • Chengcheng S.

We ordered the Lobster salad, blueberry pie, n lobster bisque. The bisque was so good! N for the salad, we azked for honey mustard, but they didnt have. The manager made their own homemade honey mustard dressing, which was amazing! Sweet n a little bit spicy.Yum!

best lobster rolls! best price in town too! highly recommend. The staff may be the nicest people I have ever met. So polite and friendly. This will be a place i will always return to when traveling to Maine.

We tried a lot of clam chowder and their chowder was the best. My hubby's greek salad was great and my daughter loved her flat bread pizza. Friendly service. Definitely recommend.

Awesome!! We had breakfast... Eggs and the best blueberry pancakes ever. We are from Florida and travel very often from coast to coast and other countries. I was pleased with my stay at the harborside hotel and walked up to the lazy lobster in the mornings. I'm happy to say we will be back here again!! Two thumbs up!! Big smiles.

  • Angela B.

Best lobster roll and bisque! I had a lobster roll with butter instead of the mayo that is usually served and loved it. Bisque was creamy and flavorful. Chief was fresh and strong. The menu has a lot of nice options including Flatbread pizza which I hope to try next time after looking at my neighbors!

Complete and utter ripoff. Two lobster rolls, cup of lobster bisque, and small bag of chips for $38.75. Lobster rolls were on small hot dog rolls with equivalent amount of lobster meat as a hot dog. Could have walked down the street and had two full lobster dinners for same price. Got me once - never again.

Had the Avocado Benedict and Lobster Quiche. Delicious and affordable! Best breakfast we've had in a long time!

This place is great for a casual meal, the owner is friendly and very welcoming. The place was spacious and the food was good. My group ordered, the chowder, lobster bisque, lily melt panini, meat lovers pizza, hawaiian pizza, and pesto panini which all tasted great.

Want to give it 6 stars!! The owners are nice and the food are great!! We ordered lazy lobster, chicken pizza and chicken wrap, all are very good. Best resto of the area!

  • Will M.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick breakfast because we were with our one year old. After only getting coffee and Danishes we quickly regretted our decision. Everything was made to order; even the home fries were fresh from the griddle. I highly recommend stopping in and trying them out!

It was a rainy, rainy day and we didn't get to lunch until around 3:00. Went into this place and were greeted by super friendly people eager to serve. Told us the rainy day had created a mad-cap lunch rush for them. Lunch rush or not, they took our order and set me up with a beer and a seat by the window. It was nice sitting there, and the manager came over with a question about our order and he, too, was super nice. So, great vibe firmly in place, we took our order home and tucked in. It was very good. My favorite was the lobster Mac and cheese, because of that home-made flavor and plenty of chunks of fresh lobster. Lobster pot pie was nice, as was lobster panini. I drank an Atlantic dark ale. Had a nice nutty flavor. There is a wine and beer store two doors down where you. An get more of that beer if you wish. Small businesses like Lazy Lobster earn our business. Support them!

Great place for a quick lunch in bar Harbor. Family owned and very friendly. They were very careful with the daughters allergies. We especially enjoyed the coleslaw and the blueberry pie.

  • Morris M.

The Trenton Bridge closed on Sunday so I came here for early dinner. The boiled lobster was amazing. The best fresh boiled lobster I had ever have. I guess I would not even want to try lobster anywhere else. The price was relatively reasonable considered the location. Anyway, I like the lobster in Maine!

    (5)
  • Jayson H.

Mike the owner was kind enough to show me how to eat a lobster. I did not know how to eat the legs and the back. It was the best fresh lobster I've ever had

  • Terri V.

Lobster roll was good and so was clam chowder! My husband had a pizza and the thing was huge! He really liked enjoyed it. Recommend this place for a nice lunch. There is a lot of places to sit....the seats are pretty cool, bungee cords on your tush. :)

The Lazy Lobster has an extremely friendly, helpful staff, and a warm, comfortable, quiet, unpretentious atmosphere. We ordered the lobster mac & cheese, which was delicious, and the Greek salad, which was also delicious. Both were delivered quickly, in generous portions, for some of the most reasonable prices we've seen in Bar Harbor. This is a great lunch spot, and very family-friendly.

  • Gregg C.

This place did not disappoint. Great wraps and the best blueberry pie I have ever had!

    (5)

Tasty lobster mac n cheese and lobster roll. The only thing to keep in mind is regular lobster roll is small. Get the double lobster roll!

  • Bill V.

Not sure if my other comment ever made it in, as we were there before Lazy Lobster was on Yelp. Great lobster special - $9.99 - from 5-8PM. Tender and sweet. Beer and wine at convenience store prices. Very good lobster roll, and we were told the flat bread pizzas were good as well. We ate there 3 out of 7 days we were in Bar Harbor.

Lovely service, very quiet for Tuesday lunch. Great prices, we had the lobster Mac and lobster roll. They carry Atlantic blueberry ale too. I would definitely return for a low key but fantastic lunch.

  • Matthew L.

Great dinner! Restaurant is big and clean. Staff is super friendly. Wife had the lobster dinner with chowder. I had a lobster roll and the Greek flatbread pizza. Lobster was great as was the pizza which was loaded with fresh spinach, artichoke hearts, roasted garlic cloves, and kalamata olives. Prices were very reasonable considering the touristy town. Good eats!

    (5)
  • Mike R.

Genuinely nice people and happy to serve. The food was very good and reasonably priced, in fact, the 1 1/4lb lobster was the best price we've see at $9.95! We will definitely come back if we are in Bar Harbor again.

  • Lise W.

Best lobster roll we tried...and we tried a lot of places. Also surprisingly affordable. And nice decor. If u love lobster don't miss this place!!

    (5)
  • Avace D.

The lobster roll was (relatively) cheap, but just okay. Didn't have too much flavor. We had a panini afterwards which was REALLY good. I'll remember the panini, not the lobster roll. The place was big and clean with huge windows which was nice. The staff was all really nice. I'll go back if I'm in bar harbor again.

This is a place for lobster lovers:simple just awesome lobster. Nice staffs and big windows. Don't miss it once you arrive at Bar harbor.

Lobster chowder mmmmmmmm. That is some awesome lobster. Excellent service, seems locals like it too. Definitely would return here!!!

  • Judy C.

This place is across the street from the bus stop in Bar Harbor. Come here for cheap lobster ($9.99). My bf and I went twice during our vacation. It's a very casual environment. Like a deli, there's no service, but it also means that there's no tipping a waitstaff. The lobsters however do not include sides, which will bring up the price. They also have sandwiches, pizza, and panini for non-lobster lovers.

    (4)
  • K R.

I was expecting a sit down restaurant. It was a deli style place. Lots, lots, lots of lobster on the panini.

    (4)
  • Jeff P.

Best value in town is the lobster happy hour! This guy really cares about service and quality. Just lobster, butter and lemon, but how can u beat that?

    (5)
  • Luke H.

We only had the lobster pizza, so we don't have a good feel for the menu as a whole. The pizza was really good, however, and the waitstaff was quite friendly. Glad we came and would certainly try other items next visit to Bar Harbor.

    (4)
  • K S.

Very overrated. Lobster roll the size of a hot dog and mediocre, but at the same price as in a real restaurant. Soup tastes like canned soup. Minimal decor. Try Watermark Restaurant. You pay the same price, but get a vastly different experience.

    (1)
  • Joe L.

This joint deserves more business. They had great tasting sandwiches and paninis. $15 lobster roll + lobster bisque is a great value too. My only qualm is that the lobster roll was pretty small, and the meat was cold and a bit fishy. But bisque portion was huge and quite tasty too, so it more than made up for the shortfall. Staff was friendly, and the inside was downright spacious, which you can't say the same for other places nearby.

    (4)
  • Kay P.

    Best veggie pizza anywhere!

    (5)
  • Rick Y.

Had the lobster roll for lunch with a beer on the deck. It couldn't have been better. A good value also. I even went back for dinner. The $9.95 lobster special is an amazing deal.
